Who are we supporting?

The Four Taylor County Volunteer Fire Departments of Buffalo Gap, Jim Ned, Lawn and Moro are made up of volunteers that serve as the first line of defense in case of an emergency. These volunteers put their lives on hold to protect and serve when a fire breaks out in our local communities. These Volunteer Fire Departments rely on financial support from sponsorships, donations, and events to continue to operate to protect our homes and businesses. Attending Fire & Ice Feast is a simple and fun way to support your local volunteer firefighters!

Our Testimonials

Brad Kerr

The Jim Ned Volunteer Fire Department is extremely grateful to be a part of the Fire and Ice Feast. We always enjoy the weekend spending time with a bunch of great folks that are so giving of themselves to help our department. Over the years we have tried to use the money raised from Fire and Ice to invest in the future of the department, and the services we provide. In the recent years, that has been used to build a very nice, go anywhere rescue Hummer that we use for medical calls. This vehicle can get us anywhere a call may be, in any type of road, or trail condition. Most recently, this money was used to upgrade our medical services from basic life support, to advanced life support. This means, we have more tools, more medications, and a higher level of training for the volunteers. For our community, we are now able to provide more advanced life-saving procedures. These items, and many, many more would not have been possible without the generosity of the cooking teams from Fire and Ice, their sponsors, and those that come out to support the event.

Moro VFD has grown significantly in the last ten years, we have state of the art equipment, highly trained members, and we provide a wide range of emergency and fire services to our area and mutual aid departments, strictly as volunteers. A significant part of our success is directly related to the Fire and Ice Feast event and its members, sponsors and leadership. This fundraiser has widely offset our annual budget with proceeds we receive from this organization. It has allowed us to purchase critical firefighting vehicles, personal protective equipment, building expansion projects, and training programs. This organization has invested in the citizens and communities throughout South Taylor County, and we are grateful to not be only a recipient, but to have the opportunity to help with the yearly event and be apart of something greater than ourselves. It is clear that over the years this group Fire and Ice Feast and all of its associated parties are truly dedicated to help volunteer fire departments continue to provide a valuable service to their communities and anyone who may travel through. Thanks simply isn't enough, it is humbling to experience the servant heart that this organization exhibits through every stage of the annual fundraising endeavor. We are blessed beyond measure to know all of you folks past and present.

The Lawn Volunteer Fire Fighters are so thankful for the support of Fire & Ice! Thanks to the donations from Fire & Ice, we have been able to upgrade and expand our fire station. Their donations have also allowed us to purchase additional PPE and perform maintenance on our equipment and vehicles. Most volunteer departments operate on very tight budgets and the support of the community through Fire & Ice is crucial to our service in those same communities.

The Fire & Ice has been given donating to the Buffalo Gap Fire Department since it's creation in 2009. Throw out the years have developed friendship with all of the cooking teams that have come out to support the fire departments in Southern Taylor County. We are one of four fire departments that benefit from the support of Fire & Ice Buffalo Gap, Lawn, Jim Ned, and Moro Fire Departments all do. With the money that Buffalo Gap Fire Dept. has received over the years we have been able to help pay for a new set of TNT Rescue tools and replace two garage doors for the fire station. We have also used some of the money to get an MSA thermal imager that greatly helps with fighting a structure fire. This allows the fire firefighters to move throw the smoke and find the fire and any victims that may still be inside of the house. We are currently saving money to replace one of the older Fire Engines that we have that is a 94 model that is our first out truck for structure fire, MVA, and medicals. It is also the first out truck for mutual aid structure fires and MVAs. The cost of a new Fire Engine is $400,000.00 dollars. This is a process that will take years for us to do, but we are trying to plane for the future. The dynamics of the type of calls have changed over the year with all of the new growth. Years ago, we would only have one or two structure fire a year and a hand full on medicals and MVAs. Now it has changed too twenty structure fires and hundreds of medicals and thirty to forty MVAs. So, the money that is raised for Buffalo Gap Fire Department will go towards a new fire engine for the future of the department. Thanks to the Fire & Ice for the support over the years, and look forward to those too come.
